Sure, you could come up with this information yourself by putting Week 1 and Week 2 together, but we thought we’d give it to you all in one spot.
The Circum-Ohio tour is a two week trip around the perimeter of Ohio. Over the course of 12 days, we’ll spend 11 days on the bike with a break after day 5. The tour will begin and end in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Trip Date: September 27 – October 8, 2011
Total Length: 862 miles
Average Day: 78 miles
Trip Fee: $300 if registered by 8/27/11
Circum-Ohio can basically be split up into four sections, the hills of Southern Ohio, the industrialized northeast, the coast and the flatlands.
After departing Cincinnati, we’ll spend nights in the following cities: Gallipolis, Portsmouth, Marietta, Bridgeport, Youngstown, Cleveland, Sandusky, Toledo, Van Wert and Dayton.
Our longest day will be 105 miles from Cincinnati to Gallipolis, and our shortest day will follow immediately from Gallipolis to Portsmouth at only 56 miles. Why not pick a different town that splits the difference, you ask? There’s not a lot going on in that section of Ohio, it was either Gallipolis or boondocking on the side of the road.
This is going to be a challenging trip certainly, but well worth it. You’ll learn new things about yourself and meet a lot of amazing people along the way, both on the bike next to you and in the towns we’re just passing through.
Please consider signing up today. Start training today, and you can be ready for this thing in 18 weeks. When we roll into Cincinnati again after 12 long days, it’ll be something you’ll remember for the rest of your life. You’ll have a story to tell.
